Thnigs are better here too.... It sounds like i need some pronunciation leassons tho, from listening to that. :-) "The School of hard knocks" im in the middle of that at the moment!! I just gotta keep my head up above water for a little bit longer...
I really enjoyed reading Richard Branson's most recent book, Business Stripped Bare: Adventures of a Global Entrepreneur. A very inspiring book, especially if you want to do something to benefit others in the course of running your own businesses.
It was good to chat to you this afternoon, just to confirm; Enterprise Week begins November 17th this year and as part of a sequence of events to promote entrepreneurship to our students, we are holding an Enterprise event in our state-of-the-art lecture theatre at the brand new Usworth Sixth Form College on Wednesday the 19th November; 12:30-4:30.
The audience would consist of mainly college students (age 16-19) with the possibility of local GCSE students from the surrounding schools.
We thought the event would focus on the skills and capabilities of entrepreneurs and then also idea generation and development.
There are a number of events that the students could get invovled in post-enterprise week, which we will be promoting. The events are:
1. Our own college event - 'Dragons Den' type competition.
2. ICT Challenge organised by gotabigidea/ business link.
3. 'What's yellow and makes money?' (Bananas) - event organised by Entrepreneurs Forum.
The event will be presented by Carol Metcalfe of Tedco Business Centre.
We are inviting local entrepreneurs along to talk to the students and I'm sure the students would love TextFlirt - so I hope you would be willing to be 'parky-style' interviewed (sofa's and coffee on a stage) in front of the audience and local press? Carol will be conducting the interviews and has lots of experience doing this type of enterprise activity. The time commitment needed would be about 45 mins. As discussed we can organise for your film crew to be in attendance and hopefully screen the first episode of your documentary. This will all be discussed at Mondays meeting to be held at 10am, Usworth Six Form, address:
Stephenson Road, Washington, NE37 2NH. You are welcome to attend.
Deloris Martin, of social enterpise platinum dance will be joining us, as will Gelders Pies and I'm still organising one or two others.
It would also be good publicity for the college and Text Flirt.
